In 1984, SCERA Center for the Arts added the SCERA Shell Outdoor Ampitheater for plays, concerts, outdoor movies, and live events. The SCERA Shell has its own stage, box office, and concessions. The seating area is a hillside with areas for blankets or chairs. 

It is located on the Southeast Corner of Scera Park in Orem Utah.

Protocols and Policies

• Smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
• Pets (except for service animals) are not allowed within the gates.
• No flash photography, audio recorders, or video cameras are allowed.
• You are welcome to bring your own food.  However, no large coolers or glass containers.
• Dress is informal.  However, shirt and shoes must be worn at all times.
• Remember, even in the summer, temperatures cool down so bring a jacket!
• Restrooms are available on the sides of the concession stand.
• While children are welcome, running and rolling on the hill are not.

Showtimes:

• All live events (plays and concerts) begin at 8:00 p.m.  
• All outdoor movies begin at dusk.

Handicap Access:

• The south entrance is wheelchair accessible with a sidewalk leading to a flat, concrete seating area.  
• An Easily accessible handicapped restroom is located behind the stage building.

SCERA Shell Box Office Hours:

• The Scera Shell Box Office is located at the west entrance for ticket purchases and will-call pickup.  
• Plays and movies: Box office opens 1½ hours before the event and the gates open one hour before the event.  
• Concerts:  Box office opens two hours before the event and the gates open 1½ hours before the event. 

Relax Under the Stars
The SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre features festival seating on a grassy slope, with designated sections for chair and blankets. Arrive early to get the best locations.

General Admission Seating: 

• Blanket seating on northeast side of hill
• Chair seating on southwest side of hill – Chairs are restricted to a 12″ seat height and a 32″ total height
• Chairs are available for $1 at the gate (limited quantities)
• Arrive early for best seating
